We are a self-help community focused on creating spaces for affordable housing among slum dwellers. We empower women and youth to achieve home ownership, land tenure security, financial literacy, and build a sustainable, thriving community.

At Friends of Vision Self-Help Group, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of slum dwellers through financial literacy and access to affordable land for housing.Established in 2018 and supported by KCB Bank, we provide secure, transparent, and member-focused
financial services tailored to empower individuals and families in Nakuru County and beyond.

Achievements
We measure our success by the milestones we’ve achieved:
- Procurement of 2 acres of prime land for 28 Phase Two members in August 2021
- Ongoing Phase Three (as of December 2022), expanding opportunities for our members
- Acquisition of 2 acres of prime land for 35 Phase One members in 2019
Results/Impact of Friends of Vision
Our impact is tangible and transformative:
- Enabling 75 families to own small plots through collective savings and successful land purchases
- Over 12 families liberated from rental payments, now settled on their own plots
- Acquiring approximately 5 acres of land within five years
- Providing homes, including those constructed from mud, as sanctuaries for cancer victims and preventing families from facing homelessness
