Friends of Vision, a social enterprise in Nakuru, Kenya, was founded in 2018 by individuals affected by cancer. We focus on self-help, sharing resources, and community involvement. Through our EE approach (Empowerment and Empathy), we’ve provided affordable housing and supported micro-businesses, especially those impacted by cancer, among the urban poor. We’ve acquired three parcels of land, turning 79 families from slum dwellers to landowners. Additionally, we established Cancer Victims and Affected Families (Cavaf) to reshape the cancer narrative and prevent destitution. Our journey epitomizes resilience and compassion in transforming lives in Kenya.
